Ford 5R110 Billet Valve Body Upgrade Kit (Lifetime Warranty)

Next Gen Drivetrain, Inc.

The most comprehensive disaster prevention kit for the 5R110 transmission.

Fits all Ford 5R110 and 5R110W TorqShift transmissions.

The Next Gen Drivetrain™ Ford 5R110 Billet Valve Body DIY Upgrade Kit addresses two common sources of hydraulic pressure loss in the 5R110: leaking factory separator gaskets and a manual valve that can wear, leak, or bind. The kit upgrades your existing valve body with thicker laser-cut separator plates, a billet steel manual valve and transfer plate, and O-ringed plugs that seal unused hydraulic passages.

The kit is designed to improve hydraulic sealing, promote more consistent clutch application, and deliver cleaner shifts. It’s a practical upgrade for a daily driver, tow rig, performance build, or transmission rebuild, and it installs without removing the transmission from the vehicle.

Lifetime No-Fault Warranty on Parts and 30-Day Money Back Guarantee

  • Lifetime No-Fault Warranty on Parts. Every part included in the kit is backed by our Lifetime No-Fault Warranty. If a kit component fails, we’ll replace it under that warranty.
  • 30-Day Money Back Guarantee, even if installed and used. If you’re unsatisfied, you can return the kit within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. You can install it, drive with it, and still qualify for the guarantee.

Why Upgrade the 5R110 Valve Body?

The valve body routes pressurized transmission fluid to apply and release the clutches. The factory paper gaskets seal the fluid passages between the valve body and transmission case. When those gaskets deteriorate, fluid can leak between circuits or escape from a circuit that needs pressure. This internal leakage, called crossleakage, can contribute to delayed engagement, inconsistent shifts, and excess clutch wear.

The manual valve moves with the shifter to direct fluid to the selected range. Wear, leakage, or binding at the valve can contribute to slow or unreliable engagement when you select Drive or Reverse. This kit addresses both areas so hydraulic pressure reaches the circuits that need it.

What’s Included

  • One large and one small CNC laser-cut separator plate. Each is approximately five times as thick as the factory paper gasket it replaces. The one-piece plates provide a more substantial sealing surface and are designed to seal using the torque sequence in the included instructions.
  • One 0.250-inch billet steel valve body transfer plate. The quarter-inch transfer plate provides a rigid mating surface for the hydraulic passages it serves.
  • One drop-in billet steel manual valve with a protective finish. The upgraded valve replaces the factory unit and is designed to reduce leakage and binding.
  • Five CNC-machined billet steel anti-leak end plugs. The O-ringed plugs seal five unused switch passages that can otherwise allow internal leakage.
  • Five high-temperature O-ring upgrades. These seals help close off leakage paths in the affected passages.
  • Illustrated installation instructions and phone support. If you have a question during installation, call Next Gen Drivetrain and speak with a transmission specialist.

Next Gen Drivetrain designs and manufactures the kit’s proprietary hard parts in-house. The kit addresses the separator gaskets, manual valve, and unused hydraulic passages in one service.

Installation

  • Difficulty — 3 out of 10
  • Estimated installation time — Approximately 3 hours
  • Transmission removal — No
  • Machining — No. The manual valve is a drop-in replacement.
  • Quick-learn or TCM tuning — Neither is required. The kit works with the factory calibration.

Use a clean work area and follow the illustrated instructions, including the specified torque sequence for the separator plates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the kit make my transmission shift harshly?
The kit is designed for quicker, cleaner, more consistent shifts by improving hydraulic sealing. You may notice slightly firmer engagement, especially if the valve body was losing pressure before the upgrade.

Can I use the kit with a TCM tune?
Yes. The kit works with the factory calibration or a compatible TCM tune. An increase in commanded line pressure is optional.

Does it make sense to install this on a low-mileage transmission?
Yes. A healthy 5R110 is a good candidate for a preventive upgrade. You can address the factory sealing points and manual valve before wear or leakage affects shift quality.

Can a high-mileage transmission benefit?
Yes, particularly when valve body leakage or manual valve wear is contributing to the symptoms. If the transmission is already slipping, has lost a gear, or has debris in the pan, diagnose the underlying issue before deciding whether a valve body upgrade or a rebuild is the right repair.

Can I reuse the parts if I rebuild the transmission later?
Yes. The billet components and separator plates can be reused if they pass inspection during the rebuild. Inspect the seals at the same time. If you later purchase a complete Next Gen Drivetrain transmission, contact us about applying 100% of your kit purchase price toward it.
