How to Return your Core to Next Gen Drivetrain, Inc.

Core Return Instructions:

Please be advised that 100% of core returns are processed by the system below. The fastest way to return your core and receive your core refund is by following the steps below. We implemented this system to ensure that all cores are accounted for in writing and refunds are processed in a timely fashion. If you have questions about completing this process, we welcome you to contact us via phone although our phone representatives are not able to complete this process for you.


  1. Begin by emailing an email containing the following information. Please allow up to 1 business day for us to process the request. (Example Below)
  • Make sure the subject line reads “Core Return Label Request: (Your invoice or order number)”. For example: Core Return Label Request: Order Number 12345
  • In the body of the email, please include the ship-from name, complete address, what the core is (I.E. Transmission, Valve Body, etc.) and contact phone number. For transmissions ONLY, please include also when the core can be scheduled for pickup by the freight carrier and if you need a liftgate or not.

      2. Pack your core(s) for shipment. Make sure they are 100% drained and dry! It is common for shipping and freight carriers to destroy or forfeit HAZMAT. Although our shipments are insured when we provide the label, we are NOT responsible for shipments forfeited due to HAZMAT. You can easily avoid this complication by draining your cores thoroughly.

      3. When we reply via email with a core return shipping/freight label, print it. If you do not have a core return sheet, please request one in your email so we can send one as well. Tape the shipping/freight label to the shipment clearly somewhere on the top of the shipment where the label can easily be seen in transit. Take the core processing sheet and fill out the information needed, then enclose it with the core somewhere where it will not be lost and be easy to find, such as in the box.

      4. For non-freight shipments, drop the package off at a local drop-off location for the respective shipping company. For freight shipments, the freight company should arrive the scheduled day. If we cannot schedule pickup for the requested day, someone from our shipping department will contact you to pick a day that they can service your location.

      5. Once the shipment is in transit, you’ve done all you have to do. Once we receive the core return, we will process the core return and issue the refund back to the method of payment used. For wire transfers, we will send a check. Please allow up to 30 calendar days, though often less, from date of receipt to process a core return.

Note: If you did NOT pay for prepaid return shipping, the cost of the return shipment will be taken from the core charge. This is generally around the same or slightly less the cost of shipping the product to you. If you DID pay for round trip shipping, you will simply receive a full core refund for an acceptable core. Remember, we cannot accept disassembled, incomplete, water damaged or physically damaged (such as a broken case) cores!
