The Greatest Problem of the ZF PowerLine-8 Transmission Has Been Resolved!
The ZF PowerLine 8 transmission has been in use for years in Europe, and is now being used in the Ram HD trucks in western markets. As the leader in engineering upgraded ZF 8-Speed transmissions and parts, we are all too acquainted with one of their most common problems, the pulse dampeners. ZF 8-Speed transmissions are notorious for having excellent shift quality and driving characteristics on day one, that quickly degenerate as the miles add on. This is caused by erosion of the casting around these parts of the valve body as well as compression of the "cushion" used to allow them to travel.
Pulse Dampeners are small pistons designed to cycle back and forth at all times while oil is being delivered to the different clutch assemblies inside the transmission. The problem is that the transmission does not need these components to operate, and the nature of their use causes them to erode quickly, causing massive pressure leaks inside the transmission. These components are consistently the main failure inside the valve body, along with the black sealing "bead" on the separator plate blowing out/being physically damaged.
Both of these problems are permanently resolved with our Project Carbon® ZF PowerLine-8 Valve Body Upgrade Kit w/ PulseDelete. The damage to the sealing "bead" of the separator plate is resolved with a dramatically thicker, laser-cut, low carbon steel gasket that mimics the design of all of our other valve body separator plates, and contours around the casting of the valve body to ensure perfect seal for life. Further, and most importantly, the separator plate oil holes are modified to bypass ALL oil flow into the pulse dampening system for life. This ensures that these components will never fail, because they are now permanently deleted from the valve body. You can even throw them away.
This kit installs quickly and easily with no transmission drop required, no reprogramming required, and installs with basic tools. An experienced technician should be able to install this product in roughly 2 hours, but we would budget up to 4 hours for someone taking their time who may be unfamiliar with this transmission. This product will ensure instant, smooth, confident shifts by making pulse dampener failure mechanically impossible.

This product was designed so that the ZF PowerLine-8 transmission could survive hundreds of hundreds of thousands of miles safely.
